History

Herzing University was founded by Henry and Suzanne Herzing in 1965, as a computer programming school, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1970, it became Herzing Institute and the organization started to grow through the acquisition of other schools. The name of the school was changed to Herzing College in 1996, and the institution has grown to include campuses in eight U.S. states, plus an online division. In 2009, with the addition of graduate programs, it was renamed Herzing University for all schools in the United States. In 2015, Herzing University became a non-profit institution.

The Herzing system headquarters are located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Academics

While expanding its campuses, Herzing also diversified its educational programs to include the fields of business, information technology, healthcare, nursing, design, legal studies and public safety. Herzing University campuses award bachelor of science degrees and associate of science degrees. Master's degrees are offered through Herzing University Online. Not all campuses offer all of the programs. An example of this would be the Phlebotomy certification course. This course is only offered in the Brookfield campus.

Accreditation

Herzing University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA).
